Project Overview
The goal of the redevelopment of the Ysgol Bro Pedr Lampeter 3 to 19 School has been to provide fit for purpose new and refurbished teaching and ancillary accommodation on the site.
In June 2012 a major building contract commenced to complete the overall strategy with Vinci Construction Ltd of Cardiff appointed as main contractor. The first phase of this contract (completed in January 2013) provided a new main pedestrian entrance to the school with associated exhibition and reception areas, and significantly improved staff and administration facilities. Two subsequent phases forming part of the same building contract comprehensively refurbished two substantial teaching wings of the school, the Humanities Wing and the two storey Science Wing. These phases were completed in October 2013 and January 2014 respectively.
The redevelopment has encompassed major re-roofing and refurbishment works and made a significant improvement to the thermal performance of the external envelope of the school.
All phases of work were carefully planned to ensure the school continued to function efficiently while construction work was in progress.
The overall programme of construction contract works was completed on time and within budget.
